1. Easy Projects .NET 4.0 News & Survey

The holiday season is getting closer, so is EP.NET 4.0 release. We plan to ship the Release Candidate in January 2006.

All EP.NET 4.0 functionality is completed and now we are working on increasing the overall system performance and speed.

As you know Easy Projects .NET requires a separate access license for each user, be it team member or customer. Sometimes a company has a team of 5-10 users, who are using Easy Projects .NET, but it also has 50-100 customers who just need to submit issues or requests and don't need a full access to other parts of the application. In this case buying a full license for each customer can be rather expensive.

To eliminate this inconvenience we decided to introduce special "Limited" user account. Such account will allow users only to submit an issue or a request and then track its status.

Of course, the price of the "Limited" account will differ from the regular price. And here we need your help. What do you think will be reasonable to charge for such a license? What sum will you be willing to pay? Please let us know at feedback@easyprojects.net

2. Tip of the Month

Easy Projects .NET can use Windows Authentication (Active Directory), so users don't need to enter their username and password to log in.

Step1: To setup the authentication mode Administrator should log into Easy Projects .NET and prepare an account for himself by adding a new user entry and specifying the username in the form of "DOMAIN\UserName". The password field should not be necessarily filled with real data.

Step 2: Close all browser windows with opened EP.NET pages.

Step 3: Turn On Windows authentication by editing the web.config file: locate the "" string, and change the value "Forms" to "Windows" (make sure the word is capitalized).

Step 4: The Administrator can now log into EP.NET without entering his username and password.

Step5: Accounts for other users should be prepared in the same way as described in step 1.
