1. Easy Projects .NET 4.1 is coming...

Let's start with some good news. We are finishing up the development of EP.NET version 4.1.
Beta testing is expected to start at the end of June - beginning of July. The final release is scheduled for the end of July.

There will be three new major features in version 4.1:
  1. Calendar
  2. Task Dependency
  3. Integration with QuickBooks

2. Easy Projects .NET 4.2 Survey Results

I am happy to announce the results of the survey for Easy Projects .NET 4.2 feature list.

The five winning features, which received the most number of votes, are:
  1. Add a new icon (Create a Task) to the Project List page to create a new task under the selected project
  2. Plugin for Outlook
  3. Ability to create "milestones" in a project and then tie it to tasks
  4. Expanded Report Generator (complex filters, predefined values, etc.)
  5. Add priority and progress filters to the Project/Task List pages
In addition, the following "bonus" requests will be implemented in version 4.2:
  1. When you are inside of a project - view a list of tasks inside the project
  2. Ability to select period (Today / This Week / This Month / etc) at the Dashboard
  3. "Move tasks" in addition to the "Copy tasks" button

4. Tip of the Month

You can enable some SpellChecker, Undo, Redo and some other additional commands in the built-in description editor by removing "//" symbols in front of the following lines in the EasyProjects\FCKEditor\fckconfig.js file:

7. Project Management Book of the Month

The project management book of the month is "The Little Black Book of Project Management" by Michael C. Thomsett

Many books about project management are complex and technical - and on some levels, these books are valuable to project managers and executives. This book, however, is more basic.
The book, part of the "Little Black Book" series, is aimed at providing practical advice for project managers, executives, and employees working on a project. The goal here is to make the project successful by keeping everything simple and easy. This is not always possible, of course, but the book does provide guidelines for helping you to survive the corporate project team experience and make it a positive one.
