3. Tip of the Month

Q: How do I schedule an add-on to run with MS SQL Express 2005 or MSDE 2000?

A: Let's say you want to schedule our "Due Tasks Reminder" add-on (available at http://www.easyprojects.net/downloads/) to run every night and notify you about the due tasks.

First, you need to follow the instructions in the setup.txt file inside the add-on package. After that, you need to complete these steps:

1. Create CheckEP.sql file with the following content: 
use EP
exec ep_DueTasks
(replace the database name and the stored procedure name with the actual name of your database and stored procedure)

2. Create run.bat file with the following content: 
@echo off 
osql -S (local)\SQLExpress -E -i CheckEP.sql -o Results.txt
(replace the server name with the actual name of your server)

3. Add run.bat file to your system scheduler (available via Control Panel)
